Headrest

If you enjoy tilting the seat and the back of your chair, then a headrest may prove useful. A reclined position is great for virtual meetings, or whenever you use your chair for recreational purposes, so having a headrest can maximize your comfort. If you simply use your chair to work on a computer, you do not need a headrest.

Lumbar Support

The bottom of the backrest is slightly curved to provide adequate support and support for the lower back. For those who have a more pronounced lumbar hollow, the option of the lumbar pump can be interesting, thus providing more support for the lower back. The lumbar pump works on the same principle as a balloon, integrated into the backrest, which can be inflated or deflated.

Lumbar Support

There are 3 lumbar support options on the tCentric:
  • Without lumbar support: recommended for occasional use of the chair;
  • With lumbar support: recommended for office work. The lumbar support provides additional support and support for the lower back;
  • With support and lumbar pump: recommended for those who have a more pronounced lumbar hollow. The lumbar pump works on the principle of a balloon integrated into the backrest, which can be inflated or deflated to achieve optimal support.

Casters

The hard floor casters are made from urethane (rubber), and glide more smoothly over wood, cement or ceramic floors. While carpet casters can be used on hard floors, the opposite is much more difficult: rubber casters will create too much friction on carpeting, making it harder for you to maneuver while sitting in your chair.

Lift Cylinders

The chair’s height can be adjusted using a lift cylinder. The standard 125-mm lift cylinder has a height adjustment range of 16” to 21” (41 cm to 53 cm) from the floor to the top of the seat. Based on your height or the specifications of your workstation, your chair may need to be raised or lowered.

Arms

Office chairs often have armrests that are too far outward, requiring the arms to be extended in order to use them properly. It is recommended to work with the arms as close to the body as possible: Swivel & Lateral armrests can glide inward, so as to bring them closer to the body.

Lumbar Support

AirCentric’s lumbar support is quite significant and provides ample support for most people. However, for individuals with a more pronounced lumbar curve, the Air Lumbar option may be of interest, as it offers additional support to the lower back. The Air Lumbar functions much like a balloon built into the backrest, which can be inflated or deflated to achieve optimal support.

Foam

Our standard seat made of dual density foam will suit most people. Below are the specifications of the two other types of foam available:

Triple density foam:

The manufacturer applies a 3rd layer of foam to the seat. For anyone who prefers a softer seat, or who is carrying extra weight, the triple density foam seat is a great option.

Memory foam:

This very firm foam relieves some of the strain from the thighs and buttocks. People who are sensitive to the pressure exerted by standard foam will welcome the benefits of a memory foam seat.

You may choose among 4  types of casters to adapt your seat for CPE and daycare work. Multisurface nylon casters will suit all kinds of floor, including carpets, while urethane casters for hard floor will be used on wood or ceramic tiles.

Lock-off casters for hard floor are well appreciated while working with toddlers and small children, since they automatically brake when nobody is seated.

Glides are useful for specific tasks which require stability, instead of mobility,

Casters

Hard floor casters are made of urethane (rubber) and provide a smoother ride on a wood, cement or ceramic floor. Carpet casters can be used on a hard floor, but the reverse is much more difficult: urethane casters on carpet will create too much friction and you will have difficulty moving around while sitting in your chair.

Lift Cylinders

The cylinder is the component that allows you to adjust the height of your chair. The standard cylinder allows you to adjust the height of your chair from 17″ to 22″ (43 cm to 56 cm) from the floor to the top of the seat. If you need your chair to go lower than 17″ (43 cm), you should choose the short cylinder, which adjusts the height of the chair from 16″ to 20″ (41 cm to 51 cm).

Seat Dimensions

The Quatra’s multi-function mechanism includes a slide to adjust the depth of the seat, and the standard configuration will fit most people. However, if you are 5’2” (1.57 m) and under, you will need a short seat, and a long seat if you are over 6’2” (1.88 m).

The useable depth of the seat is determined by the backrest blade:

Right back slat = standard seat: 18" (45.5 cm) deep

Inwardly curved backrest slat = short seat: useful depth reduced to 17" (43 cm)

Outward curved backrest slat = long seat: useful depth increased to 19" (48 cm)

Seat Dimensions

The standard 20.5″ wide seat will fit most people. If you are slim and not very wide in the shoulders, then you should opt for a narrow 18.5″ wide seat.

Seat width

The standard 20″ wide seat will fit the vast majority of people. However, depending on your height and build, another seat size may be more appropriate for you. The table below can help guide you in your choice of seat size:
